There’s a new product in town that out shines all others in its area. The new Digilight Pro MAX 400V ballasts from Maxibright are one of the most efficient ballasts on the market. Delivering a clear 10% more PAR output than any 230V unit as well as having an improved spectrum. 400V ballasts were first implemented by Gavita on their 600W and 1000W units that are attached directly to the lamp socket. The Maxibright Digilight Pro Max is a stand alone ballast that can be hooked up to any E40 or double ended lamp holder with a 1000w IEC fitting like other 1000w digital or magnetic ballasts; although you will need to use a bulb designed to be used with 400V ballasts. We currently stock the Philips Green Power 400V 1000W bulb. The Digilight Pro Max also has all the features of the Pro Select ballast range such as a soft start mechanism to help preserve the life of your bulbsuper lumens setting (660W)surge protection and sequential start; so if more than one light is plugged in they will all fire up separately.

This ballast comes with the following features: Surge Control Soft Start technology for longer lamp life and continual efficient output Fast lamp re-strike ensures hot lamps start as quickly as possible End of lamp life detection Thermal protection with auto re-set Short circuit protection Diagnostic LED feature Silent and Lightweight.

  • Produces increased light, when compared with traditional 1000w lamps
  • Runs cooler than standard HPS bulbs
  • Delivers a broader spectrum of light
  • 400v technology using 240 volts domestic mains supply
  • Long lasting
  • More efficient than traditional HPS

When compared to a standard HPS lamp, A 400 Volt HPS lamp is much more efficient. Their running costs are exactly the same due to them consuming 1000watts each but the Philips 400v produce more light and therefore, a higher yield. The light they produce is visibly whiter and brighter meaning the plants are much better catered for and less likely to experience heat damage.
