Hydroponics bubblers have made setting up of hydroponics gardens a very cheap exercise. Designed in such a way that the plant roots are bathed in oxygen infused nutrient solutions, hydroponic bubblers save all the hassle of having to set up a hydroponic garden from scratch then furnish it with all the required things to have the garden up and running. Basically, these are complete kits that come with every single thing that a DIY hydroponic gardener would need.
Hydroponic bubblers are different from each other depending on the type of water culture that one uses but all of them must always contain a water culture. The system consists of a bucket that must have a lid, large net pot, clay pebbles, large air pump and a large air stone. In this type of arrangement, the farmer does not need any material to keep plants perched over the solution since the plants can support themselves.
The system is reliant on an air pump and air stone which bubbles air through the nutrient solution and clay pebble is used as the growing medium. For those who are looking for cleaner and more efficient grow media, they can go for perlite or Rockwool.
At all times, water is maintained at a level two-thirds of the bucket. This allows enough space for the water to aerate and the plants to lose Carbon-Dioxide to the open space. However, constant pH tests must be carried out to ensure that the water culture does not become toxic.
Some plants have ability to deplete nutrients in the water culture in less than 24 hours, and since they constantly release wastes, the water culture can reach toxic levels which are not healthy for plant growth. Constant water supply is a must if you are looking for the maximum harvest at the end of the year. Also, you should ensure that the water pump is running for most part of the day.
