There’s a new product in town that out shines all others in its area. The new Digilight Pro MAX 400V ballasts from Maxibright are one of the most efficient ballasts on the market. Delivering a clear 10% more lumens per watt than any 230V unit as well as an improved spectrum. 400V ballasts were first implemented by Gavita on their 600W and 1000W units that are attached directly to the lamp socket. The Maxibright Digilight Pro Max is a standalone ballast that can be hooked up to any E40 lamp holder with the standard IEC fitting like other digital or magnetic ballasts; although you will need to use a bulb designed to be used with 400V ballasts. We currently stock the Philips Green Power and the Sylvania 400V 600W bulbs which are two of the best on the market.
It is reported that people are having great results using two 400V/600W HPS lights with the addition of the HSE 315W daylight to supply extra light in the blue part of the spectrum; helping to keep plants shorter and stockier. Although this may seem to be a lot of money to spend on lighting it is definitely a worthwhile investment that you will see great returns from, in improved yield and quality. They are also considerably cheaper than other 400V lights so in addition to the fact that you can hook them up to your existing reflectors, makes them the perfect choice for everyone wanting improve light output and therefore yield.
The Digilight Pro MAX also has all the features of the Pro Select ballast range such as a soft start mechanism to help preserve the life of your bulb, super lumens setting (660W), surge protection and sequential start; so if more than one light is plugged in they will all fire up separately.
