Hydroponics gardening systems have made it possible to grow plants without the need for soil. The plants can grow all year in any climate and are not limited by space or sunshine as growing in soil would do. Hydroponic gardening can be done indoors or in greenhouses. No soil is used, thus no weeding or back breaking digging is required at all.

Hydroponic grow systems can be setup in grow rooms which can be home-made or purchased i.e. grow tents or closets. Grow kits are available and can be purchased over the Internet. These kits save a lot of time and effort of setting up a plant from scratch. If you prefer to build it yourself, materials found at your nearby hydroponic store can come in handy. Buckets, tubing, pumps etc. are all required when you are starting out.

Once you have decided on the physical structure to use, you must ensure that your plants have all the needed requirements to grow. Firstly, you should ensure that oxygen and nutrients are abundantly available tom the plants. Both are very essential for plant growth.  The best balance of nutrients is very important and this balance may be obtained in the form of nutritional formula which is available in the market today. Beginners are usually recommended to obtain the formulas just to ensure that they do not get it wrong. The best use of this formula would be every day for fourteen days for young plants, then every seven days once the plants reach maturity.

Location and lighting and lighting are also very important. The location should be in a high traffic area that would ensure the maximum amount of carbon dioxide in the air. 8 hours of sunlight for young plants is recommended. Grow lights can also be used but be careful not to over expose your plants to light as this is harmful. For indoor growers, recreate the suns’ rays by using lights that mimic the full spectrum of the sun.

Temperatures can get hot in the hydroponic grow room with the grow lights and thus one should setup fans that will keep the temperatures steady. Optimum temperature should be between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
